XOD - working on the next yacht
First find your hull lines plan, if you can! Then I scale it to actual size that I want to make, giving me at least something to refer back to for accuracy in scale.
Then I carve the hull from modelling clay and try to get it as near as possible to the actual shape before, usually, several hours of filing, sanding and shaping to ensure the lines are fair.
