Silver Finn dinghy

Posted on September 14, 2016 by Catherine Ash-Vie

Just finished making this silver Finn replica. I cast the solid silver hull to very accurate lines detail so that it is instantly recognizable as a proper Finn dinghy.  The sail is silver sheet, cut to shape and engraved with the detail of the battens, window and Finn logo - then brush finished to give a contrast sheen. (It is really tricky to solder the delicate sail and mast to the cast hull, as everything wants to fall apart at this point!).

Could be worn as a pendant on a silver chain, or a brooch, or mounted on a plaque as a trophy or prize.
